We focus our health testing on genetic traits that are directly passable to your puppies. This testing is done via DNA mapping for known markers through Embark. Common Golden Retriever issues included in this test: Ichthyosis / ICH (common skin condition in Goldens), progressive retinal atrophy, and muscular dystrophy.
We also do OFA / PennHip testing on elbows, hips and hearts. Puppy owners should be aware that this testing has less correlation between passing results and the likelihood that your Golden will or will not have hip dysplasia. Strict attention is also given to pedigree to minimize potential inbreeding issues.
